Die Einsame
Language: German (Deutsch)
Fließet nieder, stille Tränen,
armes Herz, leg' dich zur Ruh'!
All mein Lieben, all mein Sehnen,
ach, dir, Teurer, schwärmt es zu!

Trübe schleicht der Tag von hinnen,
einsam, einsam meine Nacht,
und der Sehnsucht Tränen rinnen;
ihre Flamme ist entfacht.

Doch die Ahnung schön'rer Tage
überkommt die Seele mir;
leiser wird der Liebe Klage,
und mein Schmerz ruht aus in dir.

Süße Träume, süße Bilder,
wieget ein das kranke Herz!
Aug' der Nacht, o schaue milder!
Schlumm're ein, du tiefer Schmerz!

Confirmed with Orpheus, musikalisches Taschenbuch für das Jahr 1841, ed. by August Schmidt, 2. Jahrgang. Wien.
