Wanderlust

Den Bündel auf und lustig weiter,
fort in die liebe Welt!
Den Fuß nur leicht, die Stirne heiter,
und dann, wie's Gott gefällt!

Es findet ja, wie jede Quelle
ihr End' in einem Fluss
und jedes Bienlein seine Zelle,
darin es nisten muss,

so find' ich dann am rechten Tage
wohl auch noch meine Ruh',
und sei's auch, wo nach alter Sage
die Welt mit Brettern zu.

So lange aber lustig weiter,
fort in die liebe Welt,
den Fuß nur leicht, die Stirne heiter,
zur Ruh', wenn's Gott gefällt.
