Wird mir nichts Nächstes? Soll ich nur noch verweilen?
(Öfter mein Weinen zerstörts und mein Lächeln verzerrts),
aber manchmal erkenn' ich im Scheine der heilen
Flamme vertraulich mein inneres Herz.
Jenes, das einst so innigen Frühling geleistet,
ob sie es gleich in die Keller des Lebens verbracht.
O wie war es sofort zu dem größesten Gange erdreistet,
stieg und verstand wie ein Stern die gewordene Nacht.
