by Hans Christian Andersen (1805 - 1875)

Jylland
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Jylland mellem tvende Have
Som en Runestav er lagt,
Runerne er Kjæmpegrave
Inde midt i Skovens Pragt
Og paa Heden alvorsstor,
Her, hvor Ørknens Luftsyn boer.

Jylland, Du er Hovedlandet,
Høiland med Skov-Eensomhed!
Vildt i Vest med Klittag Sandet
Løfter sig i Bjerges Sted.
Østersø og Nordhavs Vand
Favnes over Skagens Sand.

Heden, ja man troer det neppe,
Men kom selv, besee den lidt!
Lyngen er et pragtfuldt Tæppe,
Blomster mylre milevidt.
Skynd Dig, kom! om føie Aar
Heden som en Kornmark staaer.

Mellem rige Bøndergaarde
Snart Dampdragen flyve vil;
Hvor nu Loke sine Hjorde
Driver, Skove voxe til.
Britten flyver over Hav,
Gjester her Prinds Hamlets Grav.

Jylland mellem tvende Have
Som en Runesteen er lagt,
Fortid mæle dine Grave,
Fremtid folder ud din Magt;
Havet af sit fulde Bryst
Synger høit om Jyllands Kyst.
