from Volkslieder (Folksongs)

Za goroyu
Language: Russian (Русский)
Za goroyu u krinicy', gde studenaya voda,
Vsled za zhejkoyu vyazala snopy' devka moloda.

Oj, vyazala devka, pela, chto na svete lyubo zhit`,
Esli chestno delat` delo, esli trud svoj polyubit`.

A vokrug xleba shumeli, govorili ej o tom,
Chto kolxoznoe bogatstvo smelo vxodit v kazhdy'j dom.

Vspomnyu da pripomnyu ya proshly'e goda:
Vol`noj voli, radosti ne by'lo togda.

Ne by'lo mne otdy'xa ot zari do zvezd,
YA v polyax rabotala do polnochny'x ros.

A teper` po-novomu delaem dela.
Stala chelovekom ya, kak v kolxoz voshla.

Zhizn` prishla schastlivaya v xaty' i polya.
Rasczvela, kak yablonya, krasota moya!
