David Riccio's letztes Lied
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the English
 Herrin! Dein sterngleich Aug' allein
 leiht meiner Seele Licht!
 Dein Mund in süßen Melodein
 Lieb' oder Gnade spricht.
Der Liebe Sclave knie' ich hin,
 Maria! du meiner Seele Königin!

 Die Berg' in deinem Heimatland
sind kalt und grau und leer:
 Nicht länger weil' am Nebelstrand,
Mein Haus liegt fern am Meer
dort rollt die Woge blau dahin,
 Maria! du meiner Seele Königin!

Für dich erblüht die Rose dort
 der Zitherklang erwacht:
Dann raubet nicht der rauhe Nord
 dir deine Blütenpracht.
O fliehe bald und zieh' dahin,
 Maria! du meiner Seele Königin!
