by Josef Weinheber (1892 - 1945)

Weckt mich nicht auf!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Weckt mich nicht auf!
Nichts ist so schwer wie Erwachen.
Türmen sich Berge zuhauf
über der klammen Brust.

Langsam vertropft die Zeit
wie stockendes Blut einer Wunde.
Unendliche Traurigkeit
drückt auf die Stunde.

Einmal war Lachen,
war Lust wohl auch in dieser Welt
Todruf, den tausendfachen,
hör ich noch, eh der Streich fällt.
