by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926)

Ein Anderes
Language: German (Deutsch)
Naht der Sohn mit schwerem Schritt
seinem Vater. Schwer die Zunge....
"Wirklich, was, ein Bräutchen, junge?!
Vorwärts, nur herein damit!"

Und da steht zum erstenmal
jetzt das Mädchen rot und stille;
und der Vater putzt die Brille:
"Teufel! Gut war deine Wahl!"

Und er streckt die Arme aus,
und das Bräutchen nimmt verlegen
seinen Kuß und seinen Segen....
Davon weiß das alte Haus.

Confirmed with Rainer Maria Rilke, Erste Gedichte, Leipzig : Insel-Verlag, 1913
