Many crooked, angular alleys
Wind their way through the ancient city
And every one of them conceals its enchantment
Woven into beams and leaves.
Many tangles of ivy hang
On the crumbling edge of the city wall,
The well in the middle of the market-place
Is clad in a mossy garment.
The wine in the city hall's cellar
Is as delectable as a magical potion.
You sip it in the ancient city
And are so blissfully young.
