Dereinst noch wird die Wolke licht!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
  Dereinst noch wird die Wolke licht,
Die mir dich hält verborgen;
Ich will mich länger grämen nicht,
Und dich nur lassen sorgen!
  Führt auch durch's Wetter deine Bahn,
  Nur schneller geht es himmelan!

  Dereinst noch wird die Wolke licht;

Hindurch mir, Herr, dein Angesicht
Hellleuchtend wie die Sonne.
  Und ewig preis' ich deine Bahn,
  Die hier durch's Wetter ging hinan.

Someday the cloud shall yet grow bright!
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
  Someday the cloud shall yet grow bright,
[The cloud] that conceals Thee from me;
I shall no longer distress myself,
And shall simply leave everything in Thy care!
  Though the path that Thou hast set for me may lead
  Through storms, it shall only bring me more quickly heavenward!

  Someday the cloud shall yet grow bright,
I already see the star up yonder,
The solitary star that breaks through the darkness,
Praising Thee with its radiance.
  And to me as well it signals so gently:
  Abide! abide! You shall find rest there!

  Someday the cloud shall yet grow bright,
And, oh bliss, eternally Thy face, oh Lord,
Shall shine through in radiance
That is as bright as the sun.
  And eternally I shall praise Thy paths
  That here through storms led me upward [to Thee].
