by Friedrich Hermann Frey (1839 - 1911), as Martin Greif

Falter und Rosen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Sprach eine wilde Ros' am Zaun:
Bei mir waren alle Falter traun
Und alle Bienen und Immen
Mit ihren süßen Stimmen.

Sprach eine andre wilde Ros':
Nur Einem bot ich meinen Schooß,
Einem jungen Schmetterlinge:
Vor ihm sind alle geringe.

Am Tag darauf war keine mehr,
Die Falter trieben hin und her
Fern von den blätterlosen:
Sie dachten an junge Rosen.
