Im Walde
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hier sind wir einmal gesessen,
Hier, auf diesem Waldesrasen,
Und vertauschten Liebesschmerzen,
Deren wir so viel besassen.
Und ich frug Dich: "Wirst Du treu sein?"
Da erglühten Deine Wangen,
Fester hieltst Du mich umfangen,
Und der Schwüre süßes Tauschen
Mischte sich mit Windesrauschen.

Jahre sind seitdem vergangen,
Und Dein süßes Treuewort
Mit dem Winde zog es fort.
Hier find' ich die Stelle wieder!
Laßt mich weinen, laß mit lauschen,
Ich erkenn' im Windesrauschen
Süße, altbekannte Lieder.

Confirmed with Fliegende Blätter, Band LXXXIII, ed. by J. Schneider, München: Braun & Schneider, 1885, page 89. Appears in issue no. 2095.
