O Wald, du kühlender Bronnen,
wie labst du die lechzende Brust!
Vom sengenden Brande der Sonnen
lädst du zu erfrischender Lust.

Und ruh'n wir beschattet von Zweigen,
das Auge zum Äther gewandt,
so scheint sich der Himmel zu neigen,
kühl weht's wie aus himmlischem Land.

O Wald, du Tempel der Töne,
hoch wölbt sich dein grünendes Dach,
hell klingt in verdoppelter Schöne
Gesang in den Wipfeln noch nach.

Und rührt uns beim Klange der Lieder
des Gottes allmächtiger Hand,
dann säuselt's aus Zweigen hernieder,
wie Träume aus himmlischem Land.

Oh bosc, tu, font de frescor,
com reconfortes el pit assedegat!
De la xardor abrusadora del sol
ens invites a un refrescant delit.

I quan reposem a l’ombra de les branques,
els ulls adreçats vers l’èter,
sembla que el cel s’apropi
i que una fresca brisa bufi d’un país celestial.

Oh bosc, tu, temple de les melodies,
ben alta s’estén la teva volta verdejant,
clars ressonen encara, en redoblada formosor,
els cants a les teves capçades.

I quan, al sentir el so de les cançons,
ens frega la mà totpoderosa de Déu,
llavors davallen xiuxiuejant de les branques,
com somnis d’un país celestial.
