Roter Mohn
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Rote Flammen - so glüht der Mohn,
Strotzend schwellen die Ähren,
Durch das Feld schwirrt Grillenton,
Leis, wie aus fernen Sphären.

Über den Halmen im Einerlei
Führen die Mücken den Reigen,
Heimlich bebend wandeln wir zwei
Durch das lüsterne Schweigen.

Wie Du an meiner Seite gehst,
Fühl ich Dein Herze pochen,
Wie Du mir scheu ins Antlitz spähst,
Ist all dein Trotz gebrochen.

Komm und versage Dich länger nicht --
Heilig ist diese Stunde;
Beut Dein duftiges Angesicht
Meinem dürstenden Munde!

Zwischen Ähren und rotem Mohn
In dem göttlichen Schweigen,
Jedem Späherauge entflohn --
Komm! Du bist mein eigen! --
