Die Lerche
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
Lerchelein, lieb und klein,
tirelierst so süß und fein!
Schwingst du dich, singst du dich
jubelnd in den Himmel ein?
War die Nacht auch schwer und bange,
lausch ich deinem Morgensange:
Frisch und hell, wie der Quell
aus der engen Felsenbrust
jauchzt mein Herz mir hoch vor Lust.

Lerchelein, lieb und klein,
willst du meine Botin sein?
Schmettre denn, klettre denn
selig in des Frührots Schein!
Lied gewordne leichte Schwinge,
Lerchelein, so singe, singe!
Trag mein Herz himmelwärts,
dass empor es jauchzend zieht
mit dem ersten Lerchenlied!
