by Rainer Maria Rilke (1875 - 1926)

Vieltausend Sternlein weiden
Language: German (Deutsch)
Vieltausend Sternlein weiden,
keines hat sich verirrt.
Vieltausend Sternlein weiden
auf der Himmelsheiden:
Der Mond ist ein guter Hirt.

Er hütet alle die kleinen,
der Mond auf seinem Lauf.
Er hütet auch alle die Kleinen,
und wenn sie im Traume weinen,
küßt er die Tränen auf.

Tränen und Sternlein weiden,
weil jede ein Sternlein wird.
Tränen und Sternlein weiden
auf der Himmelsheiden :
Der Mond ist ein guter Hirt.
