Sie reiten am rosigen Morgen Zum schimmernden Tore hinaus, Da lausch ich am Fenster verborgen, In meines Vaters Haus. Und kommt nun auf feurigem Rosse Mein schöner, mein lustger Sergeant, Da lächelt der süße Genosse, Und grüßend bewegt er die Hand. Ein flammender Blick fliegt herüber, Kein anderer wird es gewahr, O Glück auf den Weg du mein lieber, Mein blühender, stolzer Husar. Vorbei! Und ich lächle und sinne: O wüßt es der strenge Obrist, Wie treu auch im Dienste der Minne Sein prächtigster Reiter ist.
