Zwei Tage reichen sich die Hand -- der eine schied,
ein Flüstern raunt es durch die tiefe Stunde.
Es klingt einLied -- der Nacht ein Hohelied --
Ich sing es mit, -- Du küsst es mir vom Munde:
O hehre Nacht, tu auf dein Wunderland,
Lass alles Leiderinnern Ruhe finden.
Der Liebe Meer umrauscht ja Deinen Strand,
Drin alle Ströme meiner Sehnsucht münden.
