Regen en wind

Ik zag de Regen spelen met den Wind.
En Regen zweefde en zaaide zilverkralen
En lokte en sloeg den dartelend brutalen
Met sluiertulle en gazen lokkenlint.
 
Toen poogde Wind met neurie-zacht verhalen,
Verliefde knaap, die zoet gevlei verzint,
Voor 't lachend meisje, dat hij plaagt en mint,
Tot willig kozen over haar te. halen.
 
En uit den boomkruin, waar hij zong en floot,
Kwam stoute Wind in suizelvaart gesprongen,
Zoodat hij Regen plots in de armen sloot.
 
Weg zweefde Regen met haar wilden jongen.
Elk blad blonk groen, de rozen werden rood,
De lucht werd blauw en álle vogels zongen.
