Sing about the  bonnie maids,
the maids of the Midi (Southern France),

Listening to their warbling
think about their friend ...
La la la la! Sing!

Under Provencal skies.
Sing out the cadence
of your golden tones!

Your amiable voice may
lull, the soul row
the child that sleeps! Ah!
