Tal era, doce amada, o meu lamento;
Eis que esse deus, que em prantos se recreia,
Me diz: — "A que se expõe quem não receia
Contemplar Ursulina um só momento!

"Insano! Eu bem te vi dentre a luz pura
De seus olhos travessos, e co' um tiro
Puni tua sacrílega loucura:

De morte, por piedade hoje te firo;
Vai pois, vai merecer na sepultura
A tua linda ingrata algum suspiro.
