by Friedrich von Hagedorn (1708 - 1754)

Das Kind
Language: German (Deutsch)
Als mich die Mama
Hänschen küssen sah,
Strafte sie mich ab.
Doch sie lachte ja,
Als ihr der Papa
Heut ein Mäulchen gab.

Warum lehrt sie mich:
Mädchen! machs wie ich?
Sieh was andre sind.
Nun ich solches thu,
Schmählt sie noch dazu:
Ach ich armes Kind!

Schwestern! sagt mirs sein:
Ist mir, weil ich klein,
Noch kein Kuß vergönnt?
Seht! ich wachse schon,
Seit des Nachbars Sohn
Mich sein Schätzchen nennt.

Confirmed with Des Herrn Friedrichs Von Hagedorn Poetische Werke. Dritte Theil. Oden und Lieder, Hamburg, bey Johann Carl Bohn, 1769, page 91.
