by Meinrad Lienert (1865 - 1933)

D'Wält im Mai
Language: Swiss German (Schwizerdütsch)
's heisst, d'Ärde syg äs Chummertal.
Was saist jetz du, o Nachtigal,
Wo 's üb'rei fot a blüöhe?
Wo 's Müggli tanzt um Hus und Stall ?
Wo jedem chlyne Maiteli
Fönd d'Bäggli afo trüöe.
Se red's du, Lärch im Morgerot,
Wie Tags dr Himel offe stoht,
As alls gseht z'mitzt driine.
Und wien 'r 's himlisch Liecht nu lot,
Dur d'Stärneli wie dur n'es Sib,
Au Nachts uf d'Ärde schyne.
Und jetz red du, o Härz im Mai!
Las' d'Juzer los! Bist nüd älei;
Äs Echo git's zentume,
Vo jedem Schybli chunt's dr hei.
Jeddwedes Ohreglänggeli
Git's wien äs Glöggli ume.
