Schwarzgraue Wolken ziehen von Westen ohne Ruh, Zugvögelscharen fliehen dem warmen Süden zu. Vom Baume löst sich leise das letzte gelbe Blatt, und legt nach kurzer Reise sich müde in den Staub. Ein Käuzchen hör ich klagen im öden Waldrevier; den Herbstwind hör ich fragen: Was tust denn du noch hier?
