Unendliches Meer!
Language: German (Deutsch)
Unendliches Meer! wohl bist du so tief!
Stets finden zusammen, voll schimmernder Pracht,

Boundless sea!
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Boundless sea! you are surely deep!
But deeper [is] my love, which slept within my heart
And which the shimmering splendour of her eyes
Awakened for me in a trice and kindled for all time!
Boundless sea! you truly rejoice loudly!
But my love is louder, [my love] that looked into her heart,
And saw therein the springtime, full of shimmering splendour,
That blooms for me eternally and smiles upon me eternally!
Boundless sea! however distant your shore,
Oh when, full of love, she stretches forth [her] heart and hand to me,
[Then] together, even through storm and night, we always
Find the island of happiness, full of shimmering splendour!
