Thrakisch Füllen, warum wirfst du doch auf mich so schräge Blicke?
Grausam fliehst du mich, du traust mir wohl des Klugen wenig zu?

Aber wisse nur, ich wollte dich aufs allerbeste zäumen,
Und dich fest im Zügel haltend lenken um das Ziel der Bahn.

Jetzt noch weidest du im Grünen, spielst umher in leichten Sprüngen,
Denn es mangelt noch ein Reiter, der der Schule kundig ist.
