Liegt die Frühlingssonne so goldenhell Auf dem traulichen Gartenplätzchen, Dann schwillt mir im Herzen der Wunsch so schnell: Ich hätt' ein herzliebes Schätzchen! Mit dem säss' ich dort unterm Weissdornstrauch, Und ich drückte ihm beide Hände Und spräche mit ihm und ich küsst' es auch, Da wär des Freuens kein Ende! Doch die Zweiglein dort an dem Weissdornstrauch Haben Blüthen noch nicht getrieben, Die harren auf wärmeren Frühlingshauch, Drauf harrt auch Küssen und Lieben.
