Grün soll unsre Liebe bleiben.
Language: German (Deutsch)
Our translations:  ENG
  Grün soll unsre Liebe bleiben,
Grün, als wie dein schönes Land,
Duftge Segensblüthen treiben
Wie der Bäume Wald am Strand,
  Lust uns bringen wie die Winde,
Die da wehen von der See,
Und uns heilen sanft und linde
Jedes Leid und jedes Weh.

  Stark soll unsre Liebe bleiben
Wie der Leuchtthurm in der Fluth,
In der Wogen wildem Treiben
Uns nur stählen Kraft und Muth;
  Fest, als wie ein Fels sich gründet
Auf des Meeres tiefsten Grund,
Unauflöslich stets verbündet
Bis zur allerletzten Stund.

  Treu soll unsre Liebe bleiben,
Treu, als wie des Himmels Blau,
Daß, wenn her die Wolken treiben,
Sie nur spenden kühlen Thau;
  Und als wie die Dome streben
In den Aether kühn hinein,
Soll, so lang, so lang wir leben
Freudig unsre Liebe sein!

Our love shall remain green
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
  Our love shall remain green,
As green as your beautiful country,
Scented blossoms of blessings burgeon
Like the trees of the forest at the shore,
  [They] bring us joy like the winds
That blow from the sea,
And softly and gently heal
Our every sorrow and every woe.

  Our love shall remain as strong
As the lighthouse in the floodwaters,
In the wild surging of the waves
It shall only steel our strength and courage;
  As firmly as a rock is grounded
Upon the deepest depths of the sea,
Indissolubly ever bound together
Until the very last hour.

  Our love shall remain faithful,
Faithful as the blue of the sky,
So that when the clouds scud hither
They only bestow cooling dew;
  And as the cathedral spires strive
Boldly into the aether,
So joyful shall our love remain
As long, as long as we live!
