by Georg Freudenberg (1833 - 1865)

Der Ungetreuen
Language: German (Deutsch)
Die Sonne strahlt
Auf Wald und Feld;
Es treibt mich fort
In die weite Welt.
Ade!

Das Auge weint,
Es schweigt der Mund.
Das Herz so weh',
Die Brust so wund.
Ade!

Wohl blieb' ich gern
An diesem Ort;
Doch Du, mein Lieb,
Du treibst mich fort.
Ade!

Du hast Deine Sinn
Von mir gewandt,
D'rum muß ich hin
In's fremde Land,
Ade!

Doch mag ich zieh'n
So lang, so weit,
Dein liebes Bild
Ist mein Geleit.
Ade!

Du brachst den Schwur;
Ich halt' ihn fest.
Von seiner Treu'
Mein Herz nicht läßt.
Und kehr' ich nie
Zurück zu Dir,
Im Tod noch steh'st
Vor'm Blick Du mir!
Ade!
