by Victor August Eberhard Blüthgen (1844 - 1920)

Durch den Tanz der Abendschatten
Language: German (Deutsch)
Durch den Tanz der Abendschatten
treib' ich meinen Kahn zu Lande,
wo die weißen Wasserlilien
wachsen an des Teiches Rande.

Aus des Schilfes grünen Netzen
weiße Arme schüchtern blinken;
in das weiße Netz der Arme
darf der frohe Schiffer sinken.

Worte stocken, Herzen beben,
schmachtend senken Blick in Blick sich
in dem regungslosen Wasser
spiegelt stumm mein junges Glück sich.
