Dich, Herr, erkenn' ich im Sternendom, 
Dich bet' ich an im rauschenden Strom,
Im Plaudern säuselnder Baumeswipfel, 
Im Leuchten ferner Bergesgipfel; 

Du bist es doch, der Alles schmückt, 
Was unser armes Herz entzückt. 

Dein Antlitz ist's, zu dem mich hebt
Das Lerchenlied, das aufwärts schwebt. 
Wenn dann mein Aug' in Thränen steht, 
So nimm Das, Herr, für mein Gebet!
