Johnie sprach zu Jenny: Jenny, willst du mich? Nimmermehr, sprach Jenny, ich bin nicht für dich! Ich bin für dich, nein, nimmer kann's geschehn! Willst du nicht, sprach Johnie, gut, so laß mich gehn! Ich hab Geld und Güter, habe lang genug; sieben gute Ochsen gehen mir vor dem Pflug, vor dem Pfluge gehen sie durch die Äcker schön, willst du mich nicht nehmen, gut, so laß mich gehn! Jenny sprach zu Johnie: Sag's nur nicht zu laut, Du sollst sein der Bräutgam, und ich bin die Braut. Bist ein braver Bursche, das muß ich gestehn, besser doch, du nimmst mich, als du läßt mich gehen!
