La viuletta
Language: Italian (Abruzzese dialect)
La viuletta nasce nna la fratte
Quande lu verne si ni sctà pi ji;
Nisciuna cosa arriva a la 'ntrasatta,
Come l'amore che ti fa murì.

La luna sajie e cale 'nfra lu mese
L'amore pi te sembre a cresce sctà,
E ma ch'è tonne come ma ciresce
La bella faccia te mi vo 'nchiuvà.

Lu core me je come na pajiare
Chi nghi na luccia sola s'appiccì,
Si pija tutta l'acqua di lu mare
Lu foche, certi, nin si po' armurì.

Pi te i' mi ni ride di lu sctrizze
Quande di Marze da lu mare ve';
E se la notte lu Punente frizze
Volle sctu core si ti po' vide'.

Ni jesse cchjù crudele cal'abballa
Ca di fiure ti vojia aricuprì;
Già s'innamora l'alba, e fa lu calle
Fa prescte, ca caccune po' vinì.

Sctu core, chi mi sbatte tante tante,
Nghi sa mane m'avisse da tuccà;
Cuntente chiudarrè scta Pasqua Santa
Si na scingiata ti putesse da'!
