by Johann Nepomuk Vogl (1802 - 1866)

Lustig, lustig, wer zum Wald
Language: German (Deutsch)
Lustig, lustig, wer zum Wald
Seine Schritte wendet,
Naht der Winter rauh und kalt,
Ist die Lust geendet.

Jetzt doch pranget noch der Baum
Rings voll grünen Zweigen,
Und selbst aus dem Felsensaum
Will ein Blümchen steigen.

Vogelsang klingt an mein Ohr,
Zaubervolle Klänge!
Und der Falter fliegt empor
Aus der finster'n Enge.

Auf, mein Herz, nur frisch und frei,
Laß' nun all dein Brüten,
Ringsum webt und lebt der Mai,
Sprossen Blum' und Blüten.

Frisch ergrün' es nun in dir,
Frisch und lenzeshelle,
Wie es in dem Walde hier
Grünt an jeder Stelle.

Nimmer finde du die Spur
Zu den alten Schmerzen:
Grünen soll's auf jeder Flur,
Und in jedem Herzen!
