by Fanny (Franziska) von Hoffnaaß, née Jägerhuber (1831 - 1892)

Am Strande
Language: German (Deutsch)
Es steht der Mond in voller Pracht
Am weitem Himmelsraum,
Die wolkenlose Sommernacht
Umschwebt mich wie ein Traum.

Im See ein Silberstreifen zieht
Die glitzernd breite Bahn;
Die Welle schimmert, steigt, entflieht,
Und drüber streift ein Kahn.

Ein lockend Lied herüber tönt
In zaubrisch weichem Klang;
O wie dies Lied die Nacht verschönt,
Es klingt so süß, so bang.

[Die Stimme sehnend]1 schwillt und bebt,
[Noch]2 ein Verklingen mild --
Und wie das Boot so leis entschwebt,
Wird's meiner Jugend Bild.
