by Pieter Cornelis Boutens (1870 - 1943)

In den Nacht
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
Voor nachts sterreheldere geboden
     Buigt der dagen wil_
Zuchten zouden dringen tot de goden:
     Al is stil.

Onder witten hemelbloesem
     Dagebrand
Stervende asch, bezonken droesem
     In mijn hand...

God wat eenzaam-lange - zalig - bange
     Weg is mijn,
Voor dit brandend hart te langen
     Medicijn!

Eindelooze rij van lichten.
     Wijst het pad_
Zal ziel immer gaan door stralende gedichten
     Tot haar schat?
