by Walter Calé (1881 - 1904)

Der Denker
Language: German (Deutsch)
Was sich in Zeiten je begeben,
hab' ich vor aller Zeit gewußt:
es springt der Quell von allem Leben
geheimnisvoll aus meiner Brust.

Und als ich in der Schrift gelesen,
erlas ich nur, was ich schon bin;
in Finsternis sind alle Wesen,
doch ich das Licht und ich der Sinn.
