by Friedrich Hornfeck (1822 - 1882)

Ewig
Language: German (Deutsch)
Tief im Walde gingen wir,
Fern von den Genossen,
Und da hab' ich, Mädchen, dir
Meine lieb' erschlossen.

Ach! wie waren wir beglückt
Auf den stillen Wegen,
Nur der Sprosser sang entzückt
Seinen Liedersegen.

Goldne schwingen trugen mich
Auf des Lebens Gipfel,
Unser Glück erzählten sich
Rauschend alle Wipfel.

Ihre Blätter sind nicht mehr,
Fielen welk zu Grunde,
Doch in andern rings umher
Tönt dieselbe Kunde.

Ewig wird aus Wald und Flur
Mit dem Lenz sie sprossen;
In die eigne hat Natur
Unsre Lieb' geschlossen.
