by Heinrich Seidel (1842 - 1906)

Wandervögel
Language: German (Deutsch)
Wandervögel durch die Lüfte
Gleiten hin im Abendglühn,
In das Land der Märchendüfte,
Südwärts zu dem ew'gen Grün

Ziehn vorbei an Thal und Hügeln,
An so manch geliebtem Ort;
Und auf ihren leichten Flügeln
Tragen sie den Sommer fort.

Doch ich weiss, ihr kehrt ja wieder:
Singend in des Frühlings Schein
Bringt den Wunderklang der Lieder
Ihr vom Märchenlande heim.

Der du treulos mir entschwunden,
Wandervogel, goldnes Glück -
Nach so tausend grauen Stunden -
Wann - ach wann kehrst du zurück?!
