by Ludvig Holstein (1864 - 1943)

Nu ruger på reden
Language: Danish (Dansk)
Nu ruger på reden
i fjer og strå
ved roden af hveden
de lærker små.

Nu gemmer det grønne
en fugl i ro
med øjne som brønde
så dybe, tro.

Som frø i din rede,
o, fuglemor,
med kløver og hvede
små hjerter gror.

Dit eget må haste
fra dag til dag
med ivrige faste
små hede slag.

Kun øjnene flytter
og hjertet slår,
mens bunden du lytter
blandt græs og får.

Ned over dig ringer
du lykkens klang
fra svirrende vinger
din elskers sang.
