Lieblich hell Gesang erklingen
Voraus vor der Nachtigall!

Schauet auf den Anger breit,
Schauet an die lichte Heide,
Wie sie schon sich mit dem Kleide
Zu dem Maien hat bekleid't.

Mancherhande Blümelein
Lachen aus des Maien Tau
In der lichten Sonne Schein;
Schöne Zeit zu werter Schau!

Was soll trösten mir den Mut,
Da mich zwinget Herzensschwere,
Bei der ich viel gerne wäre,
Daß die ferne leben tut.

Hom sent un dolç cantar
arreu a les prades,
ressonen cants encantadors i clars
anticipant-se al rossinyol!

Mireu l’ampla prada,
mireu el lluminós ermàs,
que bonics amb la roba
per al maig s’han vestit.

Nombroses floretes
somriuen en la rosada de maig
a la resplendent llum del sol;
el millor temps per a un preuat espectacle!

Què em pot consolar l’ànim
quan la pesantor del cor em constreny,
de grat estaria amb ella,
la que a la llunyania viu.
