Weihnachtslied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Fröhliche, geweihte Nacht,
Die der Welt das Heil gebracht,
Alle Kinder fern und nah
Freu'n sich, dass du wieder da.

Flüstern, spähen hin und her,
Bis die Wimper wird zu schwer,
Und im lichten frohen Traum
Schauen sie den Weihnachtsbaum.

Und der Traum der heiligen Nacht
Ist erfüllt, wenn sie erwacht,
Was der Kleinen Herz begehrt,
Hat der heil'ge Christ beschert.

Fröhliche, geweihte Nacht,
Die der Welt das Heil gebracht,
Auch die Grossen nah und fern
Würden wieder Kinder gern.

Christmas‑Song
Language: English  after the German (Deutsch)
Lovely, blessed Christmas night,
That brought happiness and light,
All the children far and near
Welcome you when you appear.

All around they look and spy,
Until sleepness shuts their eye,
But in dreams they even see,
Full of light, the Christmas tree.

And the dream of that saint night
Really came so sweet and bright,
And our Saviour dear and mild
Grants the prayer of the child.

Lovely, blessed Christmas night
That brought happiness and light,
And that mankind's songs of praise
Evermore to God will raise.
