Ni veste brodée de fils tors, 
Ni même, quand je m'asseois, 
Des coussins et un divan de velours

Je n'ai ni mule, ni riches harnais de cuir fauve, 
Ni eunuques à grêle voix d'or, 
Ni houris en voiles fins cachant le nez, 
Car je ne suis en somme qu'un poète pauvre 
Et pour toute fortune je n'ai 
Qu'une longue barbe parfumée de santal, 
Divisée en forme de cornets, 
Et qu'un petit chapeau pointu comme un bonnet 
De vieil astrologue oriental.
