Love is the pearl which waits on the seafloor For the diver who brings it to the light; Love is balm upon the deep wound Which breaks from our hearts eternally new; Love is the legend which from the mouths of angels Promises believers a beautiful hereafter; Love is the lotus upon the holy river, The eternal lamp beneath the world's dome. Love is wine and makes the soul intoxicated, Love is [an] eagle's wing through [the] air of heaven, Love is blessed light from earthly sparks, It is the rose of Eden's morning scent. Love is the ark when the world [is] sunken, It is the flower upon [the] ruined tomb. Love is the tear of joy which God shed When his spirit sprang from the universe.
