by Erik Axel Karlfeldt (1864 - 1931)

Du ler
Language: Swedish (Svenska)
Du ler med vita tänder
och läppars röda glans,
och blickens ny sig tänder,
som aldrig nedan fanns.
Du gördlar dina länder
med samma lätta händer
som till din första dans.

Du räddat genom åren
ditt friska, knappa hull,
och ännu glänsa håren
som olja och som gull.
Kom, glömmom hjärtesåren!
I löten bräddar våren
sin blomsterskäppa full.

Vad sjuka skalder sjunga,
att lyckans tid förgår,
är sant på deras tunga
men vore lögn på vår.
Oss lyfta vingar unga
ur livets kval och tunga
i våra sena år.
