by Guido (Pieter Theodoor Jozef) Gezelle (1830 - 1899)

Die mijn hert bemint
Language: Dutch (Nederlands)
    Voor de H. Communie

Die mijn hert bemint, o konde ik
hem gevinden! Heere, vonde ik
  U, mijn hert, mijn toeverlaat,
  wiste ik waar hij henengaat.

Ver van mij, dat ben ik zeker,
is de liefde- en troostinspreker,
want mijn herte zwemt, o wee,
  in een wijde tranenzee.

Is hij in de blommen? Neen-hij:
in goud, rijkdom of gesteen hij,
als hij in mijn hert niet is,
  neen-hij, neen-hij, nee gewis.
