Abschied
Language: German (Deutsch)
Weit umher im spiegelglatten Meere
ist von Sturm und Wogen keine Spur,
lautlos liegt die ungeheure Leere,
heil'ge Ruhe feiert die Natur.
Einen Blick noch weih' ich diesem Lande,
lösen mögen sich dann alle Bande
meines Herzens. Fahret wohl! ewig wohl!

Ja fahrt wohl ihr lieblichen Gestalten
all meines theuren Vaterlands;
nur in meiner Brust seid Ihr enthalten
seid geflochten dort zum schönen Kranz.
Sieh'! dort schwindet schon die lietzte Küste,
einen Blick noch und des Meeres Wüste
nimmt mich auf. Fahret wohl! ewig wohl!
