Heimkehr
Language: German (Deutsch)
Heimathland! Dich seh' ich wieder!
Froh betret' ich deinen Rand;
aus der Ferne kehr' ich wieder
in's geliebte Vaterland.

Einst verliess ich deine Auen,
deine Berge, deine Flur;
wollte ferne Lande schauen,
hoffte Glück zu finden nur.

Ach! nur Leid hab' ich gefunden,
kein ersehntes grosses Glück,
und gezählt hab' ich die Stunden
bis zu dir ich kehrt' zurück.

Heimathland! Dich seh' ich wieder;
von den Bergen schallen nieder
sanfte Tönen der Schalmai'n;
in der Hirten frohe Lieder
stimmt mein volles Herz mit ein.
