by Siegfried August Mahlmann (1771 - 1826)

Hier, wo sich Einfalt Hütten baut
Language: German (Deutsch)
Hier, wo sich Einfalt Hütten baut,
Vom Weltgewühle fern,
Hier weilt, mit deinem Reiz vertraut,
Natur! dein Liebling gern.

Ihn stört in deinem Tempel hier
Der Rausch der Erde nicht,
Froh blickt er, gute Mutter, dir
Ins schöne Angesicht!

Du aber lachst ihn freundlich an,
Du giebst ihn frohen Sinn
Und führst ihn deine Blumenbahn
Durchs ganze Leben hin!

Einst schläft er ein in deinem Schooß,
Er fällt wie Blüthen ab:
Da schmückest du mit weichem Moos
Sein kleines stilles Grab!
