Erste Begegnung
Language: German (Deutsch)  after the English
Hab gesehn dich irgendwo,
sah dich lächeln grade so
strahlend eines Rätsels froh.

Das verbirgt der Dichtermund
schalkhaft-einsam, wohl mit Grund.
Wunderinseln sind ihm kund.

Hab gespürt wie deine Hand
meine so wie heute fand,
lange her in anderm Land.

Auf der Schwelle in der Luft,
vor dem Tor aus Ätherduft,
wo die Seele selbst sich ruft.

Ist es in dem Dorischen Hain?
Sahn wir uns bei Delphis Weihn,
schauten da in uns hinein?
Ist es wo der Dom ersteht?
Wo im Orgelsturm verweht
stilles Kerzenlicht-Gebet?

Fand an östlicher Zistern',
Bethlehem war nicht mehr fern --
unser Hirtenherz den Stern?

Immer lächelt noch hervor
Weisheit -- doch an diesem Tor,
heißt's, stellt man sich heut erst vor.
